News 06.02.2011: Katja Küttner awarded Jussi Prize for best actress
Actress Katja Küttner (née Kukkola) has been awarded with a Jussi Prize (Finnish Oscar) for her leading role in Arto Halonen's Princess. Küttner received the prize at the awards ceremony in Helsinki on February 6th, 2011.
In addition to Küttner's award, Princess also ranked amongst the top three runners for the audience award for best film. After close competition, the audience prize for best film went to Dome Karukoski's Lapland Odyssey.
Founded in the year 1944, the Finnish Jussi Prize is the oldest known film award in Europe. The Jussi statuettes are given yearly in honour of the most significant achievements in Finnish film, and are granted by the Filmiaura association, composed of film industry professionals.
